We haven't done anything for awhile and then in one week we do it all, literally!! So I will start at the beginning. Our good friend Melinda gave Landon his first haircut! He was sooo good, and I'm not just saying that because I am his Mom. She put the clippers up to the back of his hand so he could feel it, then she went in for the kill and he just sat there. I know, I was expecting it to be torture but he did great!
I took Friday off to spend with Rodney and Landon. We went to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving point and he had a lot of fun, I was actually surprised at how much enjoyed himself. We went on the Cow Tractor Pull, Rodney pushed him around on a trike, we went on a hayride and it just keeps going. It was good to get out of the rhythm of daily life and do something FUN.
Saturday was really busy, Rodney had to work so I took Landon to Murray Park where my best friend, Ali, and I ran a 5K. I was disappointed it was the first 5K that I had to walk. Lets just say, I've really got to work on my Kegel exercises. (gross I know) Somehow I think pushing 21lbs and a stroller wasn't helping my cause either. But that's what I wanted to do.
Next on the list was to finish decorating Landon's Birthday cake. I know what you are thinking, "man you missed your calling life!" But I can't take all the credit Rodney helped.
(If you are reading this can you tell me why it is white behind this paragraph and half of the one before? I tried correcting it but I was just making it worse, so I left it. It's driving me crazy!)
Then the party, I think he had fun. He watched as his cousins helped him open his presents. He didn't play with them much then, but he does now. And then there was the cake!!!! He just sat there eating the frosting, Rodney and I thought he would be sick later. Instead of being sick I think he went into a little mini coma because he slept in on Sunday until 8am. The best was the bath, he had so much frosting on him that he left a ring around the tub!
My baby isn't really a baby anymore! It makes me sad, but as I watch him grow, and see how he thinks about things I get excited for what is to come. Happy 1st Birthday to my precious Boy!
