St Patrick's Day

I'm not one to get into all the little holiday's.  But for some reason I felt it was important to celebrate St Patrick's Day this year.  I told Rodney on Friday that I was going to make corn beef and cabbage Sunday for dinner.  So Saturday I set out to buy all the ingredients necessary to prepare, said meal.  I got to the main ingredient corn beef and I just couldn't do it.  The back story to this is that my Mom would occasionally make this and lets just say I always thought it was gross.  I have had it once since my childhood, when I was a nanny in Massachusetts and it was fabulous. However, as I was holding the meat in my hand I just looked at it and thought, huh maybe this isn't a good idea.  So instead of corn beef we had steak instead.  I must say it was a much better choice.

Next I had to make dessert, Landon and I made a Grasshopper Cake.

It turned out pretty good, a little too minty, but it was still tasty!

Overnight Getaway

We had the good fortune to get invited to Rodney's cousins wedding, in Twin Falls, ID.  We saw this as our opportunity to head out of town for the night.  The drive up was great Lincoln slept the entire time and Landon watched a movie or two.  We arrived a little early, so after we got dressed, the boys took a driving lesson from Daddy.

I guess I didn't get one of Landon driving.  Maybe, I was too terrified, Rodney wasn't holding the wheel at all.

Finally we headed to the temple for the sealing.  It was very nice, her Great Grandfather sealed them, and we were so glad that we could share in this very special moment with them.

Memories always flood my mind, when I go to a sealing, of my own wedding day and how amazing it was.  I am so grateful to have Rodney as my Eternal companion.

We ended up staying at La Quinta Inn, it was a very nice hotel.  Can't say that our night sleep was all the restful.  But the breakfast was good, and we took the boys for a swim before we checked out.

Apparently I took too long to get ready, because when I came out of the bathroom this is what I found.  Too cute  for words!

The snake river runs through Twin Falls, or at least I think its the Snake.  Anyway, it's at the bottom of a gorge, and to get over the gorge is a beautiful Bridge.  It was kind of cold and windy so Lincoln and Rodney stayed in the car.

We had a great time, I can't wait for more fun adventures to come!

Old and out of shape

After having baby number two, at the age of 32.  I started working out as soon as I could.  I've always enjoyed running and an occasional workout video to change things up.  However, I still have this nice spare tire situated right around my mid section.  I gotta say, I'm not loving it.  So in order to find out how to get rid of said tire, I found myself googling info on how to get rid of this horrid thing.  While doing this I stumbled upon the most amazing app called Nike Training Club.

It breaks it down into categories, for what you are focusing on in your work out.

From there you can choose beginner, intermediate or advanced.  Once you select your level of intensity you can choose your workout.  The other feature that is really great, is that they show you how to do the moves.  The list goes on and on about how great I think this app is.

I've always thought of myself as a somewhat fit person.  After using this, I now think otherwise.  I was so sore the next day, and two days after using it I had to force myself onto the treadmill.  I'm so excited to be challenged and even more excited to be able to feel like I have been.  I realize that I probably won't get rid of my demon tire, but now I feel like I can shrink it...a little.

A SHOCKING Experience

So when I started working from home a few weeks ago, I brought home a little alarm clock radio that I've had on my desk for a really long time.  Landon was super excited when I told him that we could put it in his room.  Currently he has, a rather large, stereo.  I was equally as excited so that we could free up some space, of course only to fill with more stuff, but I was still excited.

Taking the large stereo out of his room was going to be a messy project that I wasn't all that thrilled about doing.  So the little radio sat in his room, as I procrastinated.  A few nights later, Rod and I heard a very high pitched scream, and then nothing.  It wasn't a noise that I had heard from either Landon or Lincoln, so I waited to see if I could hear anything else.  A couple minutes later I heard soft sobs coming from Landon's room.  When I opened the door, there he was all curled up on the floor.  I think my heart shattered into tiny pieces.  He told us that he was plugging in the radio and got hurt, and showed us a little white dot on his hand.  I guess when I was moving my things the cord severed right at the plug.

I'm just glad that the outcome wasn't any worse.  Rod gave him a blessing and he started calming down.  The next morning when he woke up his hand was fine.  How grateful I am to have the Priesthood in my home.

Valentines Day

Valentines Day this year turned out to be pretty fun.  I was kind of worried, because the boys were sick again.  After I was done working the boys and I were on a mission.  Rod and I love the bunt cakes from Nothing Bunt Cakes, so I thought I would surprise him with a Valentine treat, I also thought it would be fun to get the Heart pizza's from Papa Murphy's.  So After getting the cakes we had to hurry to a doctors appointment, just to make sure the boys were fine.  For now we have colds but Lincoln's could turn into RSV, so we have to watch him very carefully.  After leaving the Doctors office we went to the ever busy Papa Murphy's, apparently getting a heart pizza on Valentines Day is popular thing...who knew.

My sweet Valentine gave me a very nice gift.  I really like the perfume from Calvin Klein called Beauty, so he got me that along with the best card ever....

I don't know if you can read it, but it says For My Husband.  Yep, that's right, For My Husband.  He's so funny, because He actually knew that it said that when He bought it.  He proceeded to tell me that it was in the Wife Humor section, He only started to question if it was in the right place because the envelope that was behind the card was too small for the card to fit in.  We had a good chuckle, and he said, I can only imagine what the cashier was thinking as I was checking out.  I think I'm pretty blessed to have such a wonderful Husband, I love him so much and thank my Father in Heaven every day for him.

Happier than I've been in a Long Time

A week ago tomorrow, the best thing happened to me.  (Other than of course marrying Rodney and having my two boys.)  I was given the opportunity to work from home.  I am tearing up just thinking about how fortunate I am.  I have worked for Prestige for 9 1/2 years, and they have always been so good to me.

So far it's been pretty good, of course there are kinks that need to be worked out here and there.  But overall I think it will work out ok.

This is my cute little work space.
I have to say that I've learned alot.  I've gained an enormous testimony on prayer, and also faith in my Father in Heavan.  The past three years have really tested my faith, and tried me in ways that were sometimes painful, spiritually.  I have learned that He does hear me, it just might not be answered when I want it, or when I think I am ready.

Milestones and Weight Gain

Just a couple of days ago I took Lincoln to his 6 month checkup.  He is doing great, he's healthy and things are good.  We are so blessed to have a happy, healthy little boy.  Ok, maybe not so little, but we'll save that for the end.  He is growing up so fast, I can't even believe it.  He loves to stand up so I bought a stationary bouncer for him, thankfully he likes it.

He is sitting up all on his own, I've been wanting him to be able to sit up for so long.  I couldn't remember with Landon how old he was, so for memory sake Lincoln was 6 1/2 months.

I thought maybe I mentioned this already, but his major mode of transportation is rolling.  Man he is good too.  I turn around of one second and then look back and he's on the other side of the room.

So the last thing that we've kind of been working on, is the all important eating. (cereal of course.)  He's not really doing so great in that deparment.  The doctor said that it sometimes takes until 9 months, but to keep trying and when he is done don't push it.  So we tried this awhile ago, and lets just say not very much has changed.

Now I told you in the begining that he wasn't so little anymore.  I couldn't believe it, but my almost 7 month old is weighing in at a healthy 18 lbs.  He's gained 6 lbs. in 2 months, I know I can't believe it.  I thought he was going to be smaller than Landon, turns out I was wrong.  That just gives me more of him to love.
